NEW (ish) BUZZNET NAVIGATION, HOMEPAGE, etc.

Hello BawesomeUZZNETTERS.

As I didn't get chance to come on so much latelly, I must have missed all the discussion and debate (if there were any) about the new navigation bar and homepage on buzznet.

So what do you guys think?

I know there must be reasons for it, or the Buzznet team got bored ;)

I like the homepage lots, it's all colourful, but where's the news gone? Buzznet brought me mighty fine gossip from the you ess of ay, now I never ever never know what's going on there.

I also like the featured member bit at the bottom, but where's the Buzzmakers links gone? I think I've been on the actual Buzzmakers page once, and it's so hard to get to! Community < What Is Buzz < Look down the side bar < Buzzmakers < View Members.

Ah well, I'll not be able to stalk any Buzzmakers profiles as easily anymore. Jokes. Jokes.

My views on the navigation bar - I prefered the all blue one, was easier to use, and didn't stand out more than the actual users profile.

Summary:

- I <345 the homepage

- I dislike the navigation bar, though it's no big deal

What are (or were, would be more accurate) your thoughts on the changes?

I am actually interested, so please do tell me what you think.

LATERZZ!
John

i agree about the news part, even living in the ol you esss of ayy i feel a little out of the loop.
and it seems to change less often, so what little new things i see, it seems like its not new bc i see it for quite a while. incl. with the featured photos, vids, etc.
i do like the colors, and think the page looks a little more interactive & professional?
and the pic at the bottom is like my fave of you everrrr haha idk why

well..i like the homepage now that they change the background all the time..i didn't like it before when it was all gray and white and boring :/
as for the navigation bar..i don't pay much attention to it but i'm certainly glad they put the "community" label back on..makes it less confusing for me..haha

Do you think the buzzmakers should be back at the bottom instead or aswell as anything else?
IDK, I like looking at fancy colourful pictures, which the buzzmakers put up ALL the time, I find it more interesting seeing this unique content every day than obsessing over a band, the same band, FOREVER, EVERY DAY.

Buzznet still rocks, whatever [:

Yeah, I don't like that's been switched to featured photos, because there used to be the news there, then featured photos underneath, then could do a mixture of both? I don't know.

And thanks [:

yeah, and i think i liked that the featured photos were all shown at once, instead of now the main page flips through a bunch of photos (like the news stories used to)... maybe i'm just too impatient :) and also apparently too easily confused by this to find anything anymore... im about to click on one news story and it seems to switch to the next one whilst im clicking. and bam! instead of looking at some addition to warped... im looking at mcr and still have no idea what's going on with the actual news (haha random example, but im sure the mcr part is right 99% of the time)

The home page looks different depending on if you are logged on or not.

I'm not sure, but I think Buzznet are still working on the home page & whatnot. Things change all the time, most of the time for the better.

You can get to Buzzmaker links via the home page too, but it only shows 5 on rotation.

I love how the feature photos are now more front & centre, it takes me back to the good olde days when I started on Buzznet.

The news is now on the tabs up the top.

All in all I happy with the changes. =D

I am greatly pleased by the new layout, the front page seems to have more featured content from users, the featured photos page has expanded and its nice seeing my mug down the bottom of the page from time to time lol.

I agree the navigation bar is a bit irritating though -_-" Can't have everything in life I suppose.

What don't you like about the nav bar?

Comments have been paginated to solve a universal problem across the site: Pages taking AGES to load if they have 50+ comments. Now it's more like a message board, which people treat the comments section like anyway.

I was wondering about that. now when people ask the same question over & over you have to answer them because they can't see your previous answer. meh.

Not really. Most people have already caught on.
